The 433 MHz RF modules provide a very easy and low-cost method of sending data between microcontrollers or to a PC from 500 feet+ line-of-sight (depending on conditions).

Bluetooth RS232 Interface Adapter

The RS232 interface adapter is ideal for interfacing the above bluetooth module with any standard RS232 device.
When connected directly to a PC, a terminal application can be used to interactively control and communicate with remote Bluetooth devices. This setup is extremely useful for both prototyping and fully functional communications applications.
